CODE OF CONDUCT
At Alchemist + Co., we believe that the environments we create should reflect the same level of care, integrity, and intentionality used to produce them.
This Supplier Code of Conduct outlines the standards we require of all vendors, manufacturers, suppliers, contractors, and production partners working with Alchemist and Co Holdings, LLC. (“Alchemist + Co.,” “we,” “our,” or “the Company”). These standards are intended to support ethical production practices, responsible sourcing, safe working conditions, environmental awareness, and respectful treatment of all workers throughout our supply chain.
All suppliers are expected to comply with all applicable international, federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and standards governing labor, manufacturing, packaging, handling, transportation, environmental responsibility, and workplace safety.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any relationship with suppliers, vendors, or facilities found to be in violation of this Code.
ALCHEMIST + CO. CODE OF CONDUCT
The following Code of Conduct is aligned with the Fair Labor Association’s Code of Conduct and Compliance Benchmarks. It establishes the framework for our commitment to our mission and defines the minimum standards that all our employees and suppliers must meet.
Alchemist + Co. will only do business with vendors/factories that adopt and adhere to rules and conditions of employment that respect workers and, at minimum, safeguard their rights under national and international labor and social security laws and regulations.
Alchemist + Co. specially requires that all vendors/factories comply with all applicable laws and regulations relating to the exportation and importation of merchandise, including country of origin, labeling, customs classifications and valuation, and all laws prohibiting transshipment of merchandise. Where local industry standards are higher than applicable legal requirements, the higher standards apply.
EMPLOYMENT RELATIONSHIP
Suppliers must maintain employment practices that respect workers and uphold all applicable labor, employment, and social security laws and regulations.
Workers must be treated fairly, compensated appropriately, and provided with working conditions that meet legal and ethical standards.
CHILD LABOR
Alchemist + Co. strictly prohibits the use of child labor.
Suppliers may not employ individuals under the age of 15 or under the legal minimum working age established by local law, whichever standard is higher.
FORCED LABOR
Suppliers may not use forced, bonded, trafficked, indentured, prison, or involuntary labor of any kind.
All employment must be voluntary, and workers must be free to leave employment in accordance with local labor laws.
HARASSMENT AND ABUSE
All workers must be treated with dignity and respect.
Suppliers may not engage in or tolerate physical punishment, coercion, threats, intimidation, verbal abuse, discrimination, harassment, or any form of unlawful physical, psychological, or sexual misconduct within the workplace.
Suppliers are expected to maintain clear reporting procedures that allow workers to raise concerns without fear of retaliation.
NONDISCRIMINATION
Suppliers must maintain workplaces free from discrimination.
Employment practices including hiring, compensation, advancement, discipline, and termination may not discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, age, disability, gender, sexual orientation, pregnancy, marital status, medical condition, political affiliation, or any other legally protected status.
WAGE AND BENEFITS
Suppliers must compensate workers fairly and in compliance with all applicable wage and labor laws.
Workers must receive at minimum the legal minimum wage, overtime compensation where required, and all legally mandated benefits.
We encourage suppliers to support compensation practices that contribute to long-term worker wellbeing and economic stability.
WORKING HOURS
Suppliers must comply with all applicable laws regarding working hours, overtime, rest periods, and holidays.
Overtime must be voluntary and compensated according to legal requirements.
Workers must be provided reasonable rest periods and safe working conditions that support long-term wellbeing.
HEALTH, SAFETY, AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Suppliers are expected to provide safe, clean, and healthy working environments.
Facilities should implement procedures and safeguards designed to reduce workplace hazards, prevent accidents, and support worker safety and wellbeing.
Emergency exits, fire safety systems, sanitation, ventilation, and access to clean drinking water must meet all applicable standards and regulations.
ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY
Alchemist + Co. encourages suppliers to operate with environmental awareness and responsible production practices.
Suppliers must comply with all applicable environmental laws and regulations and are encouraged to reduce waste, minimize environmental impact, and support more sustainable manufacturing and sourcing practices wherever possible.
SUBCONTRACTING
Unauthorized subcontracting is prohibited.
Suppliers may not transfer production, manufacturing, assembly, or related work to another facility or subcontractor without prior written approval from Alchemist + Co.
Approved subcontractors must also comply with this Code of Conduct.
FREEDOM OF ASSOCIATION
Suppliers must recognize and respect the lawful rights of workers to freedom of association and collective bargaining in accordance with applicable local laws.
ETHICAL BUSINESS PRACTICES
Suppliers are expected to conduct business honestly, transparently, and ethically.
Bribery, corruption, kickbacks, falsified records, or improper payments of any kind are strictly prohibited.
Suppliers must maintain accurate records and operate in compliance with all applicable laws governing trade, customs, labeling, import/export requirements, and product safety.
DOCUMENTATION AND COMPLIANCE MONITORING
Suppliers must maintain documentation necessary to demonstrate compliance with this Code and applicable laws.
Alchemist + Co. reserves the right to request information, certifications, or conduct assessments related to supplier compliance, including announced or unannounced facility reviews where appropriate.
GIFTS AND CONFLICTS OF INTEREST
Suppliers may not offer gifts, payments, favors, or other incentives intended to improperly influence business decisions or relationships with Alchemist + Co.
We value transparency, professionalism, and long-term partnerships rooted in mutual respect and ethical conduct.
SECURITY
Suppliers are expected to maintain reasonable facility security procedures and cooperate with applicable customs, shipping, and regulatory requirements to help prevent unlawful activity within the supply chain.
COMMITMENT TO RESPONSIBLE PRODUCTION
At Alchemist + Co., we approach production with the belief that intentional environments begin long before a product enters the home. The materials we source, the partnerships we build, and the standards we uphold all contribute to the integrity of what we create.
We seek to work with suppliers who share a commitment to responsible craftsmanship, ethical practices, and thoughtful production.
