We believe responsibility begins with the decisions within our control.

For Alchemist + Co., that means approaching what we make, how we make it, and how we grow with intention. We are an independent fragrance house, and our approach to responsibility reflects the scale and reality of our business today while leaving room to establish stronger practices as we grow.

Thoughtful Production

We approach production deliberately, with an emphasis on considered quantities rather than unnecessary excess.

As an independent business, our scale allows us to remain close to what we produce and make decisions based on actual demand. Our goal is not simply to make more, but to make with greater consideration for what is necessary.

Materials + Sourcing

Our products depend on a network of suppliers for fragrance materials, wax, vessels, packaging, and other components.

We seek to work with established suppliers and make sourcing decisions with product quality, safety, consistency, and responsible business practices in mind. As our supply chain develops, we will continue evaluating the materials and partners behind what we make.

People

We believe the people involved in producing goods should be treated with dignity and respect.

Alchemist + Co. does not knowingly support forced labor, human trafficking, child labor, discrimination, harassment, or unsafe working conditions. We expect the businesses we work with to comply with applicable labor and employment laws and to conduct their operations responsibly.

We do not believe responsibility is measured by how many claims a company can make.

Our approach is to avoid overstating our impact, particularly where environmental and social responsibility are concerned. As better materials, processes, and information become accessible to our business, we will evaluate them carefully and adopt changes where they create meaningful improvement.
