We are committed to operating with responsibility, transparency, and respect for the people and environments involved throughout our supply chain. While we recognize that meaningful progress is ongoing work, we believe thoughtful production begins with accountability, ethical partnerships, and continuous improvement.
This policy outlines the standards and principles that guide our approach to social and environmental responsibility.
ETHICAL AND LEGAL COMPLIANCE
Alchemist + Co. expects all suppliers, vendors, manufacturers, subcontractors, and production partners to operate in compliance with all applicable local, national, and international laws and regulations relating to labor, employment, workplace safety, environmental responsibility, sourcing, manufacturing, and trade practices.
We support internationally recognized principles relating to human rights, ethical labor standards, and responsible manufacturing practices.
Alchemist + Co. is committed to full compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards pertaining to labor, human rights, and environmental practices. This includes adherence to international norms such as the Fair Labor Organization Code of Conduct and Compliance Benchmarks, based on the International Labour Organization's (ILO) Standards and internationally accepted good labor practices, and the United Nation’s Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
SUPPLY CHAIN RESPONSIBILITY
We expect all suppliers and production partners to comply with our Supplier Code of Conduct and to maintain standards that protect worker wellbeing, workplace safety, and ethical business operations.
Suppliers are expected to:
- maintain transparent operations
- comply with applicable labor and environmental laws
- uphold ethical sourcing and manufacturing standards
- provide safe and respectful working conditions
- avoid unauthorized subcontracting
We reserve the right to discontinue relationships with suppliers or facilities that fail to meet these expectations.
ETHICAL BUSINESS PRACTICES
Alchemist + Co. maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward bribery, corruption, falsified records, coercion, or unethical business conduct.
Suppliers and partners may not offer or accept improper payments, gifts, favors, or incentives intended to influence business decisions, inspections, sourcing approvals, or compliance outcomes.
We value long-term partnerships built on transparency, professionalism, and mutual accountability.
COMMUNICATION AND TRANSPARENCY
We believe responsible production requires open communication and ongoing evaluation.
Suppliers may be asked to provide documentation or information relating to sourcing, labor conditions, facility operations, subcontracting, environmental practices, or workplace policies.
Knowingly providing false, misleading, or incomplete information constitutes a violation of our standards and may result in termination of the business relationship.
SUPPLIER ONBOARDING
All suppliers and manufacturing partners must complete an onboarding and approval process prior to beginning production for Alchemist + Co.
This process may include:
- supplier questionnaires
- operational reviews
- compliance documentation
- manufacturing assessments
- social responsibility evaluations
- agreement to our Supplier Code of Conduct
Additional review or verification may be required depending on the scope of production or sourcing relationship.
SOCIAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENTS
Alchemist + Co. may conduct or request social responsibility, labor, environmental, or operational assessments through internal review or third-party partners.
Assessments may include evaluation of:
- working conditions
- labor practices
- health and safety procedures
- wages and working hours
- environmental practices
- facility standards
- documentation and recordkeeping
We encourage suppliers to approach compliance as an ongoing process of improvement rather than a one-time evaluation.
ZERO-TOLERANCE VIOLATIONS
Certain violations are considered incompatible with our standards and may result in immediate termination of the relationship.
These include, but are not limited to:
- forced labor
- child labor
- human trafficking
- physical abuse or coercion
- severe workplace safety risks
- bribery or corruption
- falsified documentation
- unauthorized subcontracting
- denial of access during compliance reviews
Where possible, we aim to support responsible remediation and corrective action. However, the safety, dignity, and wellbeing of workers remain non-negotiable.
ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY
We encourage responsible production practices that reduce unnecessary waste and environmental impact wherever possible.
